In 2011 Hristo brought home a handful of chilli seeds and swore he'd grow the hottest peppers in the world in Bulgaria. We, his family, laughed. Fifteen years later we run Люта Ферма, the country's first hot pepper farm, and the Hot Farm brand ships from Strashimirovo, near Varna, across Europe.

Hristo didn't quit. After endless hours of reading, trial and stubborn work, our yard held over 300 chilli varieties within a year. What started as a hobby became a family obsession, and the seed of Hot Farm was planted.
We converted the greenhouses, planted them entirely with chillies and built a small production facility. In three months Hristo and Darina developed 39 unique recipes, and they are still the heart of our range today.
What began as 900 m² is now 16 acres under cover with more than 80 chilli varieties. We still do every step ourselves, from the seed to the sealed jar.

Hristo bred "Bulgarian Sense", the hottest Bulgarian chilli. It's officially certified and listed in the EU catalogue of vegetable varieties. For us, it's the pepper that says best who we are.

No GMO, no preservatives, no colourings, no artificial additives. Every skin and seed removed by hand to protect sensitive stomachs.
Every December we pick our own seeds. Later we cook slowly over low heat, then fill and label each jar right here on the farm.
From gentle Jalapeño jams with no added sugar all the way to 2,000,000+ SHU Knockout sauces, plus the Hot Tour & Tasting Hall experience here on the farm.

Looking back, we can't help but smile. Hristo's crazy hobby grew into a family business, and today our jars travel to shops and kitchens all over Europe. Each one still carries a little of that story.
With love, the Rodinovi family
